    Sonja M. Bogan, 29, of Quincy, departed this life Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2019, in Tallahassee.
    A celebration of life will be 11 a.m. Saturday, July 6, 2019, at St. Stephens Primitive Baptist Church of Gretna, with burial at Sunnyvale Cemetery in Quincy.
    Williams Funeral Home of Quincy will be providing services for the Bogan family.

    Ned Burgess Sr., 61, of Quincy, transitioned from labor to reward Thursday, June 27, 2019, in Quincy.
    Funeral Services will be noon July 6, 2019, at New Bethel A.M.E. Church in Quincy, with burial following at Byrd Cemetery.
    He leaves to cherish his memories a loving wife, Angela Jenkins Burgess; son, Ned Burgess Jr.; three daughters, Shameka (Albert) Burgess, Nedrika Burgess and Trinity Burgess, all of Quincy; and a host of nieces, nephews, grandchildren and sorrowing friends.

    Robert Dean Henry, 76, of Quincy, departed this life Wednesday, June 26, 2019, in Quincy.
    He leaves to cherish his precious memories a wife, Jean Henry; two sons, Alvin Henry of Greensboro, and David Henry of Grand Ridge; two sisters, Orenettia Todd of Miami, and Mary Smith of Gretna; and four grandchildren.
    Visitation will be from 5 p.m.-7 p.m. Tuesday, July 2, 2019, at the Mortuary. A celebration of life will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, July 3, 2019, at Kingdom Hall Jehovah Witness Church in Quincy.

    Roger Odell Staley, 58, of Midway, departed this life Sunday, June 9, 2019, in Midway.
    He leaves to cherish his precious memories his four brothers, Jonathan Staley of Midway, Barry Staley and Barney Staley, both of Tallahassee, and Sean Staley, of Knoxville, Tenn.; two sisters, Gwendolyn Staley and Natalie Rosier, both of Midway; stepmother, Teresa Staley of Tallahassee.

    Rufus Shaw, 55, of Quincy, departed this life Friday, June 14, 2019, in Quincy.
    Visitation will be 2-6 p.m. Friday, June 21, 2019, at Williams Funeral Home. A celebration of life will be 11 a.m. Saturday, June 22, 2019 at Mt. Hosea Missionary Baptist Church in Quincy with burial at the church cemetery.

    William Kent Morris, 80, of Bainbridge, Ga., and formerly of Quincy, passed away Monday, June 17, 2019.
    Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 19, 2019, at Ivey Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Buddy Hood officiating. Interment will be at Cedar Grove Cemetery.

  • Hilda Taylor

    Hilda Bales Taylor (née Morris), 94, went peacefully to be with her Lord on June 22, 2019 in Wildwood.
    Hilda is survived by her sister, Evelyn Harrell of Bainbridge, Ga.; brother, Richard Morris (Mildred) of Quincy; all six of her children; eight grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.
    Her parents, husband and brother, Cecil Morris of Quincy, preceded her in death.  

  • Madge Johnson

    Frances Madge Johnson, 98, died Tuesday, June 18, 2019, at home with her family.
    She was born at Juniper and was the oldest of five children. Madge graduated from high school in Greensboro in 1939. Prior to her marriage, she supported the war effort by working at the shipyard in Panama City.
    Madge was preceded in death by her parents, Hannah Barineau and Lemuel Suber; her husband of 59 years, Col. Marvin M. Johnson; and her sisters, Loyce Suber, Pauline Smith, Joyce Crosby and Mary Mellin.

    Dorothy Dennis, 75, of Quincy, departed this life Monday, June 17, 2019, in Quincy.
    She leaves to cherish her precious memories one son, Henry Dennis Jr. (Sophia) and one daughter, Daisy Dennis, both of Quincy; three brothers, Pastor Robert James Lovett (Carol), Lance Lovett and Todd Lovett (Mona), all of Rochester, N.Y.; two sisters, Brenda Shaw (Jim) and Bridgette Lovett, both of Rochester, N.Y.; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
