Black History Month Speech/Poetry Contest
The St. John Church of God in Christ (COGIC) presents a Black History Month speech/poetry contest open to all ages. The theme is “Legacy is Life.” In 200 words or less, describe how the accomplishments of African American people (or a particular person) in the past have positively impacted the present. The award categories, sponsored by Dvercity, Inc. of Quincy, are $20 for elementary school winner, $30 for middle school winner, $40 for high school winner, and $50 for adult winner. Havana church at work

Church to celebrate homecoming
