    In this fourth week of competition, the Munroe volleyball team was able to pick up two wins last week and both were district
    contests.
     The team defeated Aucilla Christian in four games and Tallavana Christian in three.

    The Munroe Lady Cats volleyball team, still adjusting to four new starters, played two district games last week and came away at .500.

  • Panthers stung by Yellow Jackets

    West Gadsden played its first home game of the season this past Friday against the Yellow Jackets of Vernon High.
    Vernon received the opening kick and immediately implemented an impressive run-heavy offense, but a fumble recovery by K.J. McMillian ended the drive inside the Panthers’ 10-yard line.
    Unlike their opponents, West Gadsden’s first drive came to an end after three plays, which forced the defense back onto the field after its initial appearance, which lasted over six minutes.

    The Munroe volleyball team played three opponents this past week with only one of those opponents, Wakulla Christian,  competing in their small school classification.  Munroe won that match but dropped two to John Paul II Catholic and Port St. Joe High School.

  • Jags suffer opening season loss

    After an hour delay this past Friday, East Gadsden and Chiles finally stepped onto to the field to warm up. Despite the weather, several members of the “Jag Nation” made the trip to Chiles High to cheer on their team.
    High winds and the wetness of the field lead to a run-heavy offense by both teams. Neither offense was able to successfully progress down the field until the Timberwolves offensive line began to open up some holes for their running backs to run through near the end of the opening period.  

  • Girls volleyball continues

    The county volleyball teams are in full action after one week of the 2015 regular season.
    MUNROE
    The Munroe volleyball team went 0-2 their opening week.  The team, which advanced to regional semifinals last season,  lost in three games to both Grace Christian (Bainbridge) and North Florida Christian.  Despite the losses, head coach Spenser Morris saw marked improvement at times.  
    Morris said, “At times we played exceptionally well, but then our youth and inexperience would show up, unfortunately!”
