  • Play ball! Opening day for...

    The Robert F. Munroe Bobcat Baseball teams will begin their 2014 season with an opening day ceremony Saturday, Feb. 2, at Bradford May Field. The activities will start at 2 p.m. and include team skills competitions, a Red and Gray inter-squad game, fan participation events and an alumni game. The RFM Baseball Boosters will also serve catfish dinners from 4 to 6 p.m. All proceeds will support the needs of Bobcat Baseball. One upcoming project will be the construction of a new covered batting and practice facility scheduled to be built in early February.

    This past Saturday night, West Gadsden and Rickards went head to head in Greensboro. Both teams came out and displayed an extreme look of focus during their pregame warm-up drills. Though it was an away game for them, the Raiders had a good number of fans in attendance.

    The East Gadsden Jaguars loped through contests with Lincoln and then Port St. Joe in their final regular season contests last week to run their record to an impressive 17-6.

    This past Thursday, the East Gadsden Jaguars ended their regular season on the road against the Rickards Raiders. The bright lights of the North Florida Fair provided a perfect backdrop for the game. With 8:46 left in the first quarter, the Raiders scored the first touchdown of the game, which gave them a 7-0 lead over the Jaguars. 

  • Bobcats finish season 7-3

    In what turned out to be a harder-fought contest than might have been expected, the Munroe Bobcats held on to win against the Panthers of John Paul II, who had only one win on the season, this past Friday in Tallahassee at Florida High’s field. 

  • Munroe topples Temple 47-12

    After a shaky start, the Robert F. Munroe Bobcats found their groove and throttled visiting Temple Christian Academy from Jacksonville on a crisp homecoming night this past Friday at Corry Field. 

    Temple started the scoring with a 40-yard pass from quarterback Donald Brown to receiver Tywann Williams on the opening possession. The Bobcats answered on a methodical 70-yard drive that culminated with a Myles Edwards 2-yard run (Cole Skipper kick) to take the lead 7-6. 

  • Munroe Lady Cats volleyball...

    The Munroe volleyball team defeated a very good FAMU-DRS volleyball team twice during the regular season. Once they won in five games, going overtime in the fifth game of the match before winning 17-15. The second time they met, the Lady Cats played some of their best volleyball of the year and dominated the Rattlers in three straight games.

  • Bobcats fall flat at Rocky Bayou...

    After an emotional two weeks and a decisive win against conference opponent Oak Hall, the Bobcats of Robert F. Munroe ran into a buzz saw at Rocky Bayou, succumbing to the balanced rushing and passing attack of the home standing Knights 56-13. 

    “We were a little flat,” said Interim Coach Joey Edwards, “but Rocky Bayou was an experienced team and well-coached. They kept the pressure on and took advantage of their scoring opportunities.” 

  • Big week for county volleyball...

    This past week marked the end of regular season volleyball contests for FHSAA member schools. This week all four teams will be participating in district play, hoping to extend their seasons with post-season play. Results from last week, however include: 

    MUNROE VS. NORTH BAY HAVEN: The Lady Cats put together a very good effort on Senior Night, defeating North Bay Haven of Panama City in four games. Three of the four games were very close with the Lady Cats winning game 1 25-23, game 3 26-24 and game 4 25-23.
