  • Lady Cats come out on top, Jags...

    The Robert F. Munroe Day School volleyball team ran its record to 4-0 with two wins last week. The Lady Cats defeated Rickards on Wednesday and Community Christian on Thursday.

    The Lady Cats defeated Rickards in Tallahassee in three straight games. In the match Spenser Morris, Courtney Mayo and Audrey Thomas combined for 13 kills. Setter Kristen Allen tallied 13 assists. 

  • Bobcat golfers take fourth in...

    The young and rebuilding Robert F. Munroe Day School golf team placed fourth in a four-team tournament featuring some of the best golf teams in the Big Bend. 

    Chiles scored a team-high 151 points with all four golfers scoring under 40.  Maclay placed second with a 158 and Lincoln third with a 167. 

    The Bobcats were led by freshman Fletcher Morgan and senior Miller Joyner, both of whom shot a 41. Clay Young shot a 45 and Josh McLendon a 48. 

  • County’s high schools...

    East Gadsden High School’s Jaguars got off to a good start as they took on the Wakulla War Eagles last Friday night. The Jags racked up two TDs from quarterback Donterrious Garret early in the game.

    But the Eagles regrouped and the Wakulla offense had tied the game at the half.

    The War Eagles’ defense showed up in the second half, and quickly took the lead on a 34-yard field goal with less than 5 minutes left in the game.

    The final score was 17-14.

    West Gadsden High’s Panthers didn’t fare any better in their battle with Crestview.

Sr. Adrianne Woodward – OH, 2 year starter.

  • Lady Cats take two wins,...

    The Munroe Lady Cats won two of three last week to run their record to 6-1 on the season. The team defeated North Florida Christian and FAMU  on back-to-back nights but then dropped a key district matchup to Altha at home on Thursday.

  • Bobcats fall to Arnold

    The Robert F. Munroe Bobcats traveled to Panama City Beach last Friday to take on the Arnold Marlins on the team’s homecoming night. The Marlins gave the Bobcats a severe thrashing, taking the win 49-6.

    The loss came despite troubles on the Marlin bench since the season began, including student transfers and the flu.

    Munroe scored its only touchdown in the second quarter on a 6-yard run by Daniel Meeks, who led the Bobcats with 73 yards on 15 carries. The extra point attempt failed.

  • Jags take loss against Raiders

    While West Gadsden’s Panthers had an open date, East Gadsden High’s Jaguars faced off against the Rickards Raiders last Friday night. The scoreboard showed the Raiders on top 34-6 at the final buzzer.

    According to reports, both teams had a hard time hanging on to the ball. The Jags intercepted two Raider QB tosses, and were intercepted once.

    The Jags did, however, rack up more yardage on the ground, due mostly to 92  rushing yards by East Gadsden’s Montez Fryson.

  • East meets West in cross-county...

    The East Gadsden High School Jaguars leaves the West Gadsden Panthers scoreless after posting a 21-0 win last Friday night in the cross-county rivals’ Superintendent’s Cup season opener.

    East Gadsden’s first score came with 5:35 on the clock after a big catch, which was followed up with a quarterback-keeper from Donterrius Garrett. The point after was good, to make the score 7-0. EGHS was stopped on fourth-and-10 in the red zone and West Gadsden took over on its own 1-yard line, but a fumble caused a safety for the Jags, leading to a 9-0 game.

  • Volleyball kicks off county-wide

    The Robert F. Munroe Day School volleyball team opened the 2009 season with two wins last week. 

    On Monday night the team traveled to Bainbridge to take on Grace Christian.  The Lady Cats won all three games and the match, with scores of 25-20, 25-20 and 25-16.

    Munroe was led offensively by senior outside hitter Spenser Morris.  Morris finished the match with 10 kills. 

  • RFM duffers open season with win

    The Robert F. Munroe Day School golf team opened its season by placing second in a five-way match held last week at Southwood.

    Munroe’s team combined for a 175 on nine holes with four players.  The winning team, Len High School, scored a 154. 

    Munroe defeated Florida High, FAMU and Rickards.  Top golfer for the Bobcats was Clay Kramm with a 40 followed by eighth grader Fletcher Morgan with a 41. 

    Morgan also birdied the first hole.
