Outmanned and out gunned, the West Gadsden Panthers fell to the to the larger East Gadsden High School in the Superintendent's Cup game Sept. 3 at Corry Field.

    Despite the second loss of the season, WGHS coach, Antonio Bradwell said he saw some bright spots.

      "They played hard. East Gadsden jumped out on us," he said when the Jaguars scored two touchdowns in the first quarter as they also held the Panthers to only a few yards on the ground.

      The final score was 26-0.

As a little girl Megan Haire loved to tumble, flip and do head stands. Her parents, Scott and Deloris Haire, thought they'd better channel that energy into something safe and productive. She could still do what she liked but under the supervision of professionals.

The couple sought out Murkerson's Gymnastics School in Bainbridge, Ga. three years ago and enrolled Megan.

    There, the family met owner Melynda Murkerson, who became Megan's coach. The hours of training have begun paying off.

The music was playing and everyone was having a good time April 15 in the gymnasium Carter-Parramore Academy May 15 during the Step Up, Gadsden, Be Smart, Be Healthy! challenge. The event is part of "Step Up, Florida!" and was intended to get Floridians off the couch and into a exercise program.
