  • Bobcats topple Peniel Warriors...

    The first real football weather of the season seemed to invigorate the Bobcats of Robert F. Munroe Day School as they clicked on all cylinders en route to a 53-14 victory over the Peniel Baptist Academy Warriors of Palatka. With the win, the Bobcats improved their season record to 4-5.

  • Jags topple Bradford Tornadoes

    The East Gadsden Jaguars were in action last Friday night as they traveled to Starke to take on the Bradford Tornadoes.

    Bradford took the early 3-0 lead after a big play set up a Tyler Cubbedge field goal but the Jags answered quickly when freshmen Jarrell Reynolds returned the ensuing kickoff a school record 89 yards for a touchdown. It was only the second kickoff return for a score in school history. The East Gadsden defense then held and went on a scoring drive capped by a Wiley Williams 5-yard touchdown run.

  • Lady Cats win in district play

    The Robert F. Munroe volleyball team rallied from an opening match loss to Altha in the Class A District 2 semifinals on Tuesday before a boisterous and supportive student body. The chanting, clapping and all-around revelery kept the Altha team on edge and prevented them from communicating – a fundamental very important in volleyball.

  • Bobcats beat top rival Aucilla...

    The Bobcats of Robert F. Munroe and the Warriors of Aucilla Christian met in their annual slugfest last Friday night, with the Bobcats prevailing 27-20 in a runaway that was almost too close for comfort.  

    Both teams arrived with sub-.500 records and rosters weakened by injuries. The Warriors had soundly defeated the Bobcats in the prior two meetings and looked to maintain their current dominance in the series that has spanned four decades.

  • Munroe crowns queen, falls in...

    Homecoming for the Robert F. Munroe Day School Bobcats saw a stadium full of fans and alumni, the crowning of Adrianne Woodward as the queen and a pep band that kept the spirits high from start to finish.  It was a grand atmosphere and a great night for football and reunions, especially the RFM Class of 1989.  There was only one problem: the victory went to the visitors from Bronson.

  • Lady Cats take wins to close out...

    In the regular season finale that was also senior night for two starting players, Spenser Morris and Adrianne Woodward, the Lady Cats took Rickards in three straight games to win their 17th match of the season.

    Munroe was led by Morris and Georgie Branaman who combined for 10 kills.  Kristen Allen added 18 assists along with five aces and Courtney Mayo contributed 3 blocks and five aces.

    The win ended the team’s regular season at 17-6.

  • WG, EG lose; both teams on the...

    East Gadsden High’s Jaguars fell to Fort White last weekend, 19-12. The loss takes the Jags’ season record to 2-6.

    The Jags travel to Bradford this Friday night.

    West Gadsden High’s Panthers lost to Wewahitchka 14-6 last week, and will travel to Franklin County this weekend.

    The loss takes the Panthers to 0-7 on the season.

  • Volleyball season winds down to...

    The regular volleyball season concludes this week for Gadsden County  FHSAA member schools and next week district tournaments begin.

    Both East Gadsdsen and Robert F. Munroe Day School will host tournaments while West Gadsden will travel to Port St. Joe to participate in tournament action.

    As the fifth seed in the Class 3A District 2 tournament, East Gadsden will take on No. 4 seed Rickards on Monday night in Havana in a play-in game.  Rickards has split with East Gadsden in the two previous contests between the two schools.

  • Bobcats earn hard-fought win on...

    The Bobcats of Robert F. Munroe Day School overcame a host of difficulties en route to a 14-8 victory in Palatka on Friday night, their second of the season.  A 4-hour bus trip, heavy rains and turnovers combined with a determined Peniel Baptist Academy to make for a hard-fought win.

  • East Gadsden takes big win at...

    East Gadsden High School’s Jaguars couldn’t have asked for a better homecoming night – brisk, chilly air, royalty crowned and a victory over FAMU High.

    The final score was 21-6, with the Jags taking their first win of the regular season and amping their record to 2-5 overall.

    But the win didn’t come without trouble. Early on in the second quarter, running back Montez Fryson suffered a knee injury, taking him out for the rest of the game. Prior to the injury, Fryson had racked up 60 yards rushing and a TD.
