  • Bobcats boys win district title

    After a one-year hiatus, the Munroe Bobcats are once more FHSAA District 1-2A champions after defeating arch-rival Aucilla for the third time this season 6-5. 

    The Bobcats won three consecutive district crowns in 2010, 2011 and 2012 before being bounced in the opening game of the tournament last season. With the victory, the Bobcats also reached 20 wins for the season, as their record improved to 20-5. 

  • Bobcats fall twice, win their regular season finale

    For the first time this season, the Munroe Bobcats suffered a two-game losing streak, dropping one-run games to Wewahitchka on Tuesday, April 15, and Maclay on Wednesday, April 16. The streak lasted until the next night when Munroe defeated Westwood in their final regular season game. 

    “We lost a couple of hard-fought games,” said Bobcat Coach Jayme Williams. “We had our chances in each one. We’re not happy we lost, but we competed. Hats off to Wewahitchka and Maclay for their play.”

  • Munroe girls in district softball tourney

    With all other county teams ousted from their district softball tournaments, Munroe was thrust into the district championship game against Aucilla thanks to a last-minute forfeit by FAMU-DRS an hour before first pitch. FAMU forfeited out of the bracket while Munroe was warming up April 16 at Aucilla’s field, sending the Bobcats into the district finals April 17 against No. 1-seeded Aucilla. 

  • RFM wins 2 more

    With one week remaining in the regular season, the Robert F. Munroe Bobcats saw their overall record increase to 18-3 with wins over District 1-2A foe Tallavana and Holmes County. The Tallavana victory also left the Bobcats a perfect 6-0 in district play, with the season-ending tournament looming in Aucilla in two weeks. 

  • Girls softball continues

    In the final push of regular season softball, the Munroe softball team went 2-1 and the East Gadsden team lost, too. 

  • Panthers rally from behind to beat the Jaguars

    Wednesday, March 26, the East Gadsden High School Jaguars hosted the West Gadsden High School Panthers for their first head-to-head battle of the baseball season. The Jaguars took advantage of several errors committed by the Panthers during the first two innings of play, jumping out to a 7-2 lead.

  • Munroe runs past Tallavana, rallies to beat Brookwood

    After seeing their unbeaten streak end with two losses in Jacksonville, the Bobcats of Robert F. Munroe started a new winning streak with victories over district foe Tallavana and interstate rival Brookwood (Thomasville, Ga.) this past week. 

    “We’re happy to get back on the winning track,” said Bobcat Head Coach Jayme Williams. “We learned a lot about ourselves in the PTown Classic and got an opportunity to put it to use this week.”

    The Munroe Lady Cats softball team had their best chance to beat 4A Leon High School for the first time in softball but after 10 innings of play, it was not meant to be.

  • Bobcats have 2-1 week

    A busy week of baseball for Munroe ended with the team winning two district games and dropping a third contest, as their record for the season reached 16-3. The Bobcats, thus far undefeated in District 1-2A, began the week with a 9-5 Tuesday, April 1, road victory over rival Aucilla Christian. The victory didn’t come as easily as the final score might indicate, with Munroe falling behind 5-1 after two innings.
