  • Jaguars, Panthers stumble in away games

    This past Friday both East and West Gadsden fell short on the road as they attempted to improve upon their overall records. East Gadsden headed to Panama City to take on Bay High, and lost 28-14. West Gadsden lost to Graceville in a high-scoring shootout by a score of 60-37.

  • Tournaments ahead in girls volleyball

    In this final week of volleyball regular season action, our local teams will work on nailing down those fundamentals of the game that will create success in the post-season.  
    District tournaments start next week and our county teams will all be traveling but Munroe.

  • Call it a draw: Lady Jags, Lady Cats win 2 each in volleyball matchup

    With the conclusion of this week’s
    FHSAA-member school volleyball action, there will only be one more week of regular season volleyball before district tournaments start the week of Oc. 19.  
    This week actually marks the end of district play for our four county teams — Munroe, Tallavana Christian, East Gadsden and West Gadsden. Districts with a large number of teams will actually begin on the 19th with tournaments culminating usually on a Thursday in order to not compete with Friday night football.

  • Jags mauled by Bulldogs

    The Jags played their first district game of the season at home this past Friday against the Bulldogs of Marianna High.
    After a tight first quarter, in which the Bulldogs gained a 7-0 advantage they quickly extended their lead with two touchdowns within the first two minutes of the second period.

  • Serve! Lady Cats face Lady Jags

    In the final full week of September play, the Munroe volleyball team picked up three wins to push their win-streak to five matches.  In those five matches, the team dropped only two individual games.  The other three matches were won 3-0 in a best of five set up.

  • Panthers impress

    After a 0-3 start to the season, West Gadsden played their second home game this past Friday against Jay High School, which is located in Jay, Fla.
    A large crowd filled the home section to cheer the Panthers on before they hit the road again to play an extremely important district game against Liberty County next Friday, Oct. 2.
    After the game, Coach Striplin spoke on the importance of gaining a little momentum heading into their district game:

    The Munroe Lady Cats volleyball team, still adjusting to four new starters, played two district games last week and came away at .500.
