    West Gadsden’s football season came to an end on the road this past Friday against Sneads High.   • Jags end slump with homecoming win

    The East Gadsden Jaguars ended their 19-game regular season losing streak and notched their first win of the season with a 25-22 homecoming victory over the Jefferson County Tigers this past Friday night.
    After the Tigers started the game by putting eight points on the board, the Jaguars were able to score a field goal as the first quarter wound down, making the score 8-3 Tigers.
    The Jaguars started the second quarter with consecutive first downs, and at the end of that possession were able to score a touch down via a 40-yard carry from RB Stephon Simpkins.

  • Panthers fall short in play-off run

    Six days ago West Gadsden hosted Chipley High with a playoff berth at stake. The Tiger received the opening kick-off, and found the end-zone two plays later as their quarterback connected with his receiver on a go route down the right sideline with 11:18 remaining in the first quarter.

  • Volleyball season over for Gadsden girls

    Volleyball ended this past week for all our county volleyball teams.  East Gadsden, West Gadsden and Tallavana Christian all lost in the first round of their respective districts.  Munroe automatically advanced to the second round of their tournament.  
    East Gadsden was defeated by Marianna 3-0 in round one.  Chipley disposed of West Gadsden 3-0 and Aucilla Christian defeated Tallavana Christian 3-0.

  • Panthers snag big homecoming win

    This past Friday an energetic Panther squad ran onto their home field to play a big homecoming game against Franklin County.
    At the end of the contest they found themselves in a position to reach the play-offs with another home victory against Chipley High this Friday.  After the game, Coach Striplin spoke on the importance of his team’s victory: “We treated this game like a play-off game. The coaches did a good job, and the players executed.”

  • Regular season ends, tourney excitement begins

    Last week was the final week of regular season volleyball.

    The Lady Cats travelled to Marianna on Monday night for a non-district matchup.  Marianna won in three straight 25-19, 25-16, 25-13.  Key stats for Munroe were Jada Watkins with 13 digs, 4 kills and one block.  Mary Pat Thomas finished with 10 digs and 2 blocks.

  • Jaguars, Panthers stumble in away games

    This past Friday both East and West Gadsden fell short on the road as they attempted to improve upon their overall records. East Gadsden headed to Panama City to take on Bay High, and lost 28-14. West Gadsden lost to Graceville in a high-scoring shootout by a score of 60-37.
