According to published reports, Gov. Charlie Crist signed a bill this morning that gives Gadsden County another year to reopen the Gadsden Community Hospital.
Crist signed House Bill 873, sponsored by Rep. Alan Williams, D-Tallahassee, as Gadsden County officials looked on. The bill allows rural hospitals that have held inactive licenses for at least 20 months to get a 12-month license extension. The bill, tailored for Gadsden, requires hospitals to make progress toward reopening.
