The Gadsden County Board of Commissioners held the first of two public hearings Monday night but it was unclear whether the meeting had been properly advertised as a public hearing.
County Administrator Johnny Williams said he thought the meeting was advertised but couldn't be sure because Betty Miller, the administrative assistant who usually places ads, is out of the office on sick leave. However, the meeting continued with five items on the agenda for discussion.
Those items added another $85,000 to the budget. The money will come from reserves which total $450,000.
