  • Wakulla Bank closed

       Wakulla Bank, Crawfordville, Florida, was closed today by the Florida Office of Financial Regulation, which appointed the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) as receiver. To protect the depositors, the FDIC entered into a purchase and assumption agreement with Centennial Bank, Conway, Arkansas, to assume all of the deposits of Wakulla Bank.

  • Medical Center marks six busy months

    The Capital Regional Medical Center – Gadsden Memorial Campus has marked six months of service and experienced a surprising demand for care since opening in June.

     During that time, the facility has surpassed expectations and filled a health care void left in the community when Gadsden County Hospital was closed in 2005.
