  • Betty Sue Herndon Gumanis

    Betty Sue Herndon Gumanis, 79, of Chattahoochee, Florida, died on April 10, 2012, in Tallahassee, Florida. She was born April 9, 1933, in Harbison City, Florida. She was employed as a secretary at Chattahoochee Elementary School for many years before retirement. She was a longtime member of the First United Methodist Church in Chattahoochee and the Chattahoochee Woman's Club.

    Rev. Nathaniel F. Sumpter, 90, of Quincy, Florida died on Sunday, April 8, 2012, in Tallahassee, Florida. Services are Saturday, April14, 2012 at East Gadsden High School at 1:00 pm. Burial will be at Sunnyvale Cemetery. Visitation is Friday, April 13, 2012. Williams Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

    Darlene Anita Martin, 55, of Blountstown, died on Wednesday, April 4, 2012 in Tallahassee, Florida.  The service will be held 2 PM CST Saturday April 14, 2012 at St. Mary MB Church in Blountstown, FL with burial to follow in the St. John Cemetery.  Viewing will be from 3 to 8 PM Friday April 13, at Bradwell Mortuary in Quincy (850-627-3700). 

  • Mr. George Frederick

    Mr. George Frederick, 73, of Quincy, Florida died on Saturday, April 7, 2012, in Quincy, Florida. Services are Saturday, April 14, 2012 at Greater Tanner Chapel at 2:00 pm. Burial will be at Sunnyvale Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday, April 13, 2012 from 1-7 pm. Williams Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

    Survivors include three brothers; Willie Frederick (Ethel) of Quincy, FL, Tommy Lee Frederick of Dover, Delaware and Henry Frederick of Springfield, Conn. Two sisters; Louise Sims of Orlando, FL and Marion Oliver (Clyde) of Melbourne, FL.

  • Rosa Mae McGriff

    Rosa Mae McGriff, 79, of Havana, died on Friday April 6, 2012 at home.  She was a member of New Jerusalem M.B. Church of Havana where her services will be held 11 AM Saturday April 14, 2012.  She will be interred in the Barber Cemetery following the services.  Viewing will be from 3 PM to 8 PM at Bradwell Mortuary in Quincy (850-627-3700). 

  • Marilyn Wiggins Anderson

    Marilyn Wiggins Anderson of Quincy, Florida passed away on March 28, 2012. She was a retired teacher with the Gadsden County School District. She was married to the late Willie James Anderson of Anderson Barber Shop.

    Joyce Ann Baker, 52, of Quincy, died on Thursday, March 29, 2012 in Tallahassee.  She was a member of Power Ministries Church of God in Christ.  The services will be 11 AM Saturday April 7, 2012 at St. John COGIC in Quincy, Florida with burial in the St. John AME Church Cemetery.  Bradwell Mortuary of Quincy is in charge of the arrangements.  Viewing will be from 3:00 PM until 8:00 PM Friday April 6, 2012 at Bradwell Mortuary (850-627-3700).

    Ms. Emily Smart, 76, of Quincy, Florida, died on Thursday, March 29, 2012 in Quincy, Florida. Services were Wednesday, April 4, 2012 at St. John A.M.E Church at 11:00 a.m. Burial was at the St. John Cemetery. Visitation was Tuesday, April 3, 2012 from 1-7 p.m. Williams Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

  • Shakeila Katrece Daniels Vickers and Vincent Tavarious Vickers

    Shakeila Katrece Daniels Vickers, 32, and Vincent Tavarious Vickers, 9, a mother and son, passed away tragically on Saturday, March 17, 2012 in Tallahassee. Shakeila was a devoted mother and wife, and Vincent was a student at Rudigers Elementary School and was a star basketball player. Shakeila and Vincent were funeralized on Wednesday, March 28, 2012 at Deliverance Temple Ministries and were buried in the Bonnie Hill Cemetery. They are survived by many friends and loved ones, including, husband/father, Vince D.

  • John Albert Moreau

    John Albert Moreau, age 63, passed away March 21, 2012, at his home in the Bettstown Community outside Quincy, Florida.

    Funeral services were Saturday, March 24, 2012, at the Hopewell United Methodist Church, on Drane Smith Road where it intersects the Betts Community Road at 11:00 am.
