  • Gainer, Eddie

    Eddie Roy "Joe" Gainer, 70, of Quincy, died Dec. 11 in Quincy. He was born October 5, 1938 in Bluffton, Ga. to the late Minnie Jackson and Johnnie Gainer.

    He later moved to Quincy and remained there until his death. He attended the public schools of Gadsden County and was a member of Antioch MB Church. He was joined in holy matrimony to Ernestine Campbell on Aug. 26, 1966 in Miami and they were blessed with two children. He was a professional truck driver and owner of the company.

  • Singleton, Ruth

    Ruth Singleton, 100, of Quincy, died Dec. 11 in Tallahassee.

    She was born Dec. 6, 1908 in Pelham, Ga. to the late Hattie Ross and Josh Singleton. She attended the public schools of Pelham, was a resident of Quincy and spent most of her life in Hollywood, where she was employed as a domestic homemaker and a devoed member of New Hope Missionary Baptist Church, before returning to Quincy two years ago.

  • Faison, Ola Mae

    Ola Mae “Shug” Jackson Faison, 65, of Gretna, died Dec. 5 at Tallahassee Memorial Healthcare.

    Born Feb. 2, 1943, she was the daughter of the late Udell Wilson and Amos Lee “Buddy” Jackson Sr. of Whigham, Ga.

    She attended the public schools in Whigham, and was married to the late Jerry Faison Sr., and they were proud parents and grandparents. She was employed as a laborer i

  • Gilliams, Lucy

    Lucy Prigden Neal Gilliams, 92, of Tampa, died Nov. 30 at Delta Healthcare in Tampa.

    Born May 25, 1916, she was the daughter of the late Mary Lue Parker and Horace Pridgen. She attended public schools in Gadsden County, married Wilfred Lee Gilliams Sr. and the couple had a son. She was a homemaker, member of Mt. Moriah First Baptist Church and a devoted member of the mission society.

    Funeral services were held Dec. 13 at Mt. Moriah FBC, with burial in Sunnyvale Cemetery.
