  • Caroline Bailey Brinson May

    Caroline Bailey Brinson May passed away at her daughter’s home in Quincy, Florida, on Wednesday, May 2, 2012. Carolyn was born December 7, 1918, to Dr. John Bradford Brinson and Martha Bailey Brinson at their home in Monticello. She was a fifth generation Floridian and descendant of some of Florida’s earliest settlers, including John Branch, Florida’s last territorial governor.

    Mulloy C. Cannon, 92 of Quincy passed away Tuesday, May 1, 2012. The service was Friday, May 4, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at the First Baptist Church Chapel in Quincy with burial at Hillcrest Cemetery. Visitation was Thursday, May 3, 2012 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Independent Funeral Home, Quincy (850) 875-1529.

    She was born in Greensboro, FL, to the late Faye and Albert Chason. She was a homemaker and a member of the First Baptist Church in Quincy.  Mulloy was known for her neat and clean home and yard and always was in motion. She was always taking care of others.

The service was 2:00 p.m. Saturday, May 5, 2012 at Centenary United Methodist Church, Quincy, FL with burial at Hillcrest Cemetery. Visitation was from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friday, May 4, 2012 at Independent Funeral Home in Quincy, FL (850) 875-1529.

    William Augustus Baker, 59, passed away on April 23, 2012. Funeral Services was Saturday, April 28, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Hebron A.M.E. Church with burial at the church cemetery. Visitation was Friday, April 27, 2012, from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Ivey Funeral Home, 850-627-6575.

    Survivors include his wife, Tina Jackson Moore Baker. Daughters; Carla Baker Smith, Carlicia Baker Thomas and D’Andra Moore. Sons, Curtis Jones and Shean Moore. Mother, Clara Mae Dixie.

    Ella Ruth Strickland, 90, passed away at Signature Courtyard Nursing Facility in Marianna, Florida where she and her husband, Ray A. Strickland have resided for the past three years.  She was born in Quitman, GA. and had lived in both Cario, GA. and Bristol, FL. most of her life.

    Rachel G. Perkins, 84, of Tallahassee peacefully went to be with the Lord Sunday, April 22 surrounded by her family. Family visitation will be April 25, at the Centenary United Methodist Church Parlor in Quincy, FL 3:00 PM followed by a memorial service 4 PM.

    Ms. Alberta Miller of Quincy, Florida died Tuesday, April 17, 2012, in Tallahassee, Florida. Services are Saturday, April 28, 2012 at St. Joseph M.B. Church at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be at Sunnyvale Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday, April 27, 2012 from 1-7 p.m. Williams Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

  • Wayne Z. Brockman

    Wayne Z. Brockman, 75, of Quincy passed suddenly on April 17, 2012. He as born in Quincy, May 30, 1936 and was a lifetime resident. He was a member and former deacon of the Thomas Memorial Baptist Church and for many years worked with the Florida Baptist Convention. He also was a former member of the Florida National Guard, A.O. Shelfer Armory and a member of the Gideons. He was retired after thirty-eight years from the Bank of America (Citizen’s Bank and Trust Co.)

    Mr. Carlos Allen, 37, of Quincy, Florida, died on Sunday, April 15, 2012, in Tallahassee, Florida. Services are Saturday, April 28, 2012 at Mt Pilgrim P.B. Church at 2:00 p.m. Burial will be at Campground Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday, April 27, 2012 from 1-7 p.m. Williams Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

    Christine Tuning "Chrissy", 32 of Quincy, died April 10, 2012. A memorial gathering was held April13, 2012 from 5pm to 8pm at 17767 Blue Star Hwy, Quincy, FL. at  Don and Cathy Andersen's home.
