    Mr. Marvin Donnell Walker, 51, of Quincy, died on Friday, April 27, 2012, in Tallahassee, Fl. Services were May 5, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Glory Tabernacle Church of God in Christ in Gretna, Florida. Burial was at Sunnyvale Cemetery.   • Roy L. McLendon, Jr

    Roy L. McLendon, Jr. was born May 9, 1926 in Midville, Georgia.  When 3 months old his family moved to Quincy, Fl. Therefore, one may conclude that Roy is considered a native Floridan of which there are only a few left. He graduated from high school in May 1944 and immediately volunteered for the U.S. Navy. His boot training occurred at Camp Peary, Va. While there he developed a fever of 105 degrees placing him in the base hospital for five weeks. He actually went through two boot camp periods so he was well trained for the next assignment.

    Caroline Bailey Brinson May passed away at her daughter’s home in Quincy, Florida, on Wednesday, May 2, 2012. Carolyn was born December 7, 1918, to Dr. John Bradford Brinson and Martha Bailey Brinson at their home in Monticello. She was a fifth generation Floridian and descendant of some of Florida’s earliest settlers, including John Branch, Florida’s last territorial governor.

    Mulloy C. Cannon, 92 of Quincy passed away Tuesday, May 1, 2012. The service was Friday, May 4, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at the First Baptist Church Chapel in Quincy with burial at Hillcrest Cemetery. Visitation was Thursday, May 3, 2012 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Independent Funeral Home, Quincy (850) 875-1529.

    She was born in Greensboro, FL, to the late Faye and Albert Chason. She was a homemaker and a member of the First Baptist Church in Quincy.  Mulloy was known for her neat and clean home and yard and always was in motion. She was always taking care of others.

    Survivors include his wife, Tina Jackson Moore Baker. Daughters; Carla Baker Smith, Carlicia Baker Thomas and D’Andra Moore. Sons, Curtis Jones and Shean Moore. Mother, Clara Mae Dixie.

    Ella Ruth Strickland, 90, passed away at Signature Courtyard Nursing Facility in Marianna, Florida where she and her husband, Ray A. Strickland have resided for the past three years.  She was born in Quitman, GA. and had lived in both Cario, GA. and Bristol, FL. most of her life.
