Obituaries

Joseph Richardson, 57, of Chattahoochee, died March 12, 2009 at Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare. 

Richardson served his country by joining the U.S. Marine Corps.  He returned home after his service and worked until retirement as a human services aide at the Florida State Hospital.  He also attained certification as a nursing assistant.  He was a member of New Zion MB Church and actively attended St. James MB Church with his wife, Evangelist Betty “Peaches” Green Richardson of Chattahoochee. 

Charles F. Evans, 70, of Quincy, died March 12, 2009 in Tallahassee.

Services will be held March 21 at 2 p.m. at Arnett Chapel AME Church, with burial in Sunnyvale Cemetery.

Survivors include a son, Charles F. Evans Jr. of Auburn, Wash.; and a daughter, Kristen Elaine Evans of Bothell, Wash.

Visitation will be held Friday.

Services for Marcelle Massey McLeod, 88, of Thomasville, were held March 21, 2009 at Dawson Street Baptist Church, where she was a member, with interment in Sunset Memorial Gardens.

McLeod died March 18 at Archbold Memorial Hospital, surrounded by her loving family. Pallbearers will be her grandsons.

Born August 18, 1920, in Barwick, she was the daughter of the late Bertie Lloyd and Reva Jones Massey. On June 23, 1941, she married William Archie McLeod, who preceded her in death on March 15, 1964.

Carolyn Moore Murray, 57 , of Chattahoochee, died March 19, 2009 in Tallahassee. She was a faithful and devoted member of St. James MB Church in the Sycamore Community.

Services were held March 28 at the St. James Church with burial following at UBA Cemetery in Chattahoochee. A wake service was held March 27 at the church.
