Local leaders aim to motivate youth

Humility, focus and co-operation with police officers were the main themes discussed as prominent men from the area spoke to students, all of whom were black and Hispanic boys, during a forum entitled “A Conversation with Our Sons” at Crossroad Academy the morning of Thursday, Dec. 18.

Ten students had the opportunity to ask one question each to the panelists during the forum. Many of the questions revolved around how minority men should conduct themselves when dealing with police officers.

Raiders tame Jaguars in tough match-up

This past Friday night the Jaguars traveled to Leon County to take on the Rickards Raiders; shortly after the referee threw the ball up at half-court it was clear the Jaguars were a bit overmatched.  
The Raiders jumped out to an early lead in the first quarter and carried a 22-10 lead into the second quarter quarter.
