    honors the Watsons

    At 11a.m. Aug. 18, Shiloh P.B. Church will host a Memorial Service for Mattie and Ester (Red) Watson Sr. The service will also honor their seven children who drowned Aug. 18, 1962, in Lake Talquin at Robinson’s Landing. Essie B., Delores, Ethel Lee, Leonard, Bernard, Jennifer, and Terry Watson were all students of St. John Elementary School. Any former classmates who are able to attend would be greatly appreciated by the family.

Louis Ivey, pastor, is getting ready for their annual Family and Friends Day Program, which will start at 3 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 11. The New Bethel Primitive Baptist Church, Havana, Pastor Griggs will be the guest church for the evening. Everyone is invited to come and celebrate and enjoy “Family and Friends.”
