    “Lookmarge@ a Happy Life”  is the title of the next book I’m planning to read.  It promises to be one of the most exciting and enjoyable books I’ll ever read because I know the author, and I have an autographed copy.

    Marge Miller Petitmermet is the author and subject of the aforementioned book.  She is married to Ernest “Ernie”  Petitmermet and has been for the last 68 years.  They were married the year that I was born.  Imagine!

  • Turner, James married

    Yvonne McDonald and Robert Turner of Tallahassee, along with Inell James of Quncy and Klent James of Sneads are pleased to announce the marriage of their children, Sherika Denise Turner and Eric Durell James.

    The bride is employed at Tallahassee Memorial Healthcare. Her grandparents are Thelma Oce of Quincy and the late Bill Jordan.

    The groom is a correctional officer at Liberty Correctional Institute. He is the grandson of Louise Hughes, the late Joseph Hughes, Virginia James and Gradis James, all of Quincy.

  • Brittins celebrate 50 years together

    Anthony and Helen Brittin of Lubbock, Texas and Chattahoochee celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Jan. 23. They are the parents of Ruth V. Brittin (Brian Kendrick) of Stockton, Calif., Clark N. Brittin (Brenda) of Twin Falls, Idaho and Carol  B. Chambers (Mark) of San Antonio, Texas. They were married Jan. 23, 1960 at First Presbyterian Church in Chattahoochee. The couple has seven grandchildren.

  • Along Twin Ponds Road

    I couldn’t help but think that Santa Claus had just entered my mother-in-law’s room at the nursing home.

    When Dr. Oliver walked through the doorway of the room he had a smile on his face and his eyes twinkled. My wife and I had just done our best to get her mother to smile. We were making our departure feeling frustrated and lost, as we so often do when we are unable to somehow manage to make her mother feel better.
