The West Gadsden High School Panthers are the only county team to make it out of the district playoffs in boys FHSAA basketball.
The team defeated Wewahitchka in a semifinal District 3-2A game on Friday night in Wewahitchka after trailing by 11 points late in the third period. The Panthers made a strong run the last 12 minutes of the contest, pulling out a 59-42 win.
Guards John Battles and Jesse Winbush led the spurt with quick scores off of steals. Battles finished with 22 points and Winbush hit 17. Mario Williams added 10 to the Panther total.
