West Gadsden High School defeated Blountstown 13-4 last Thursday and lost to John Paul II 12-3 Monday night as they began baseball play.
In the Blountstown game, Quantez Houge was the winning pitcher, going six innings and fanning 14.
Demarcus Richardson had three hits for the Panthers and Houge, Brandon Moore and Devontez Travis had two each. Houge drove in three runs and scored four times.
