On Monday afternoon, Robert F. Munroe freshman Kaitlyn Sirmons picked up her first pitching win of the season with a dominating 20-3 win over FAMU.
Munroe scored 10 runs in the first three innings and coasted to a five inning win. Kristen Allen and Haleigh Corbally had three hits each with Corbally hitting a grandslam homerun on the FAMU college field. Mary Jane Milam added a triple with two RBIs. The team moved to 9-5 on the season with the win.
The next night the Lady Cats traveled to Malone for another Class A Disrict 2 matchup. The two teams battled to a 1-1 tie after three innings and then Munroe scored four runs in the top of the fourth.
Malone added 10 runs in a huge top of the seventh and held on from a small three-run rally by Malone to win 17-7.
Leadoff hitter Allen was a perfect 4-4 with four stolen bases and three runs scored.
Milam added a three run in the park home run and Spenser Morris was 2-for-4 with an RBI and scored three runs. Elly Tilk hit a single that scored one run.
The team moved to 10-5 overall and 6-1 in the districts.
