The Munroe volleyball team dropped both matches this week. The team lost away games to district rival John Paul II on Tuesday and North Florida Christian on Thursday.

In Tuesday’s match, the Lady Cats lost in three straight games by scores of 25-13, 25-16 and 25-7. Statistically, Mollie Edward had five kills and Audrey Thomas four aces. Kaitlyn Sirmons added nine digs and three aces.
On Thursday, NFC was looking to avenge a three-game loss to Munroe in early September.

Mission was accomplished by the Eagles, but all four games were intense, exciting games that could have gone either way.

NFC jumped out to a win in the first game 25-22, but Munroe stormed back for a win in game two, 25-21. North Florida then rallied in game three, 25-22, and game four, 25-23, to take the match.

Mollie Edwards had 13 kills to lead the team, followed by Audrey Thomas’ 10 kills. Most of those kills were through sets from Madalyn Pappadakis, who finished with 19 assists. Thomas also was stellar on defense with 15 digs, followed by Kaitlyn Sirmons with 14 digs.

The team dropped to 6-3 on the season with the loss.

The Jaguars lost to district foe Godby on Tuesday in three straight games, 25-12, 25-9, 25-23.

Florida A & M University — Developmental Research School defeated West Gadsden in girls’ volleyball in three straight last Tuesday. Winning scores were 25-13, 25- 15, 25-18.
