It was senior night for the seven young Robert F. Munroe football players Friday night and it was a night they aren't likely to forget soon. The Bobcats soundly defeated John Paul II Panthers, 56-6, in a runaway game. The win brings the Bobcats season record to 5-3.
The 'Cats jumped off to a good start in the first quarter scoring 21 points. In the second and third quarters they scored 14 points consecutively and 6 points in he fourth quarter. John Paul II, in a rebuilding year, managed to score 6 points in the fourth quarter. One touchdown was called back in the second quarter because of a holding penalty.
Behind Dustin Watson's arm, Munroe amassed 267 yard passing with 15 completions on 23 attempts. Bill Holt carried 15 times for 54 yards and Trey Pack carried 3 times for 17 yards.
Myles Edwards caught for 40 yards and one touchdown. Matt Sampson had a big night with 6 catches for 155 yards and one TD while Fletcher Vaughn caught 4 passes for 67 yards and one touchdown.
De'Andre Paul brought the house down when he recovered a Panther fumble and ran it back 97 yards for a touchdown.
The Bobcats face Aucilla Christian at Aucilla Oct. 29.
