On behalf of America’s Second Harvest of the Big Bend, we want to thank the citizens of Gadsden County for your generous support of the 2009 Stamp Out Hunger food drive held May 9. We also want to thank the Quincy post office and the many letter carriers for all of your work in collecting the food.
The drive is an annual collaborative effort of Feeding America, the National Association of Letter Carriers, Campbell’s Soup Company and other businesses and organizations. This year, because of your support we received over 5,920 pounds of food in Gadsden County alone. We were amazed and thrilled that you once again showed your continued support of our mission to feed those in need, even during these challenging economic times.
The food collected through the food drive has already been distributed to individuals and families most in need in Gadsden County so again we thank the citizens of Gadsden County and the National Association of Letter Carriers for helping us fight hunger and feed hope in our community.
