St. John Elementary
St. John Elementary School takes on a new initiative called the Spokes of Hope program created by Mr. John Govans. Mr. Govans is a retired Recreational Superintendent from Tallahassee Parks and Recreation in Tallahassee, Florida. He heard great things about the potentials of St. John Elementary School and the community and chose to be one of our mentors. Through his mentorship, he brings forth an array of ideas, resources, funding, and business partners interacting with the school and families to help produce productive learners for today’s global society. It will take hard work and determination of all stakeholders to make this possible. Kindergarten teachers will pilot the Spokes of Hope program, which will be forth coming for other grade levels.

Ms. Cynthia Hagins, the Guidance Counselor for St. John Elementary School will be the coordinator for the school’s Spokes of Hope initiative. As an incentive to kindergarten teachers and other staff for their leadership roles and taking on additional responsibilities and duties with the Spokes of Hope Model she rewarded individuals with complimentary tickets to see the play Madea’s Big Happy Family at the Leon County Civic Center.
The tickets were donated to the school on behave of Tyler Perry Production and the Leon County Civic Center from an inspiring letter written by Ms. Cynthia Hagins on behalf of the school. We would also like to thanks to Mr. Govans for his resourcefulness and public relations that helped made the teacher’s reward possible.
