Rose Marie Baker, 87, of Quincy passed away Sunday, April 29, 2012 in St. Augustine. The service was 2:00 p.m. Saturday, May 5, 2012 at Centenary United Methodist Church, Quincy, FL with burial at Hillcrest Cemetery. Visitation was from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friday, May 4, 2012 at Independent Funeral Home in Quincy, FL (850) 875-1529.
She was born in Bluff Dale, TX, on January 7, 1925. She moved with her husband, the late Sloan Baker, to Quincy in 1946. Rose filled her life and the life of her family and friends with love and laughter. She knew no strangers and had many friends of all ages.
Rose is survived by her children, Frank S. Baker, III (Shirley) of Quincy, Jean B. Tucker (Len) and Linda Baker all of St. Augustine, FL. Sisters; Hettie Jackson and Annie Watson of Bluff Dale, TX. Brothers-in-law; Ned Baker and Jack Baker, and sisters-in-law, Judy Stroud and Kathy Baker all of Granbury, TX. "Anmama" is survived by her grandchildren; Sloan Baker, IV, (Tiffany), Roy G, Hurst, Jr., Amy B. Treanor (Bobby), Claudia Dencer (George), Julianna Tucker, and five great grandchildren.
