The Robert F. Munroe Day School tennis team lost two last week but it wasn’t all frowns for the Lady Cats. The team came within one game of defeating long time district dominators, Maclay, at The Golf Club of Quincy. Maclay edged out a 4-3 team win but drove off with a new-found respect and even a little fear for the Lady Cats.
In the No. 1 slot, Hilary Flournoy lost 6-2, 6-2 and in the second slot Beth Summerford got a huge win over Maclay’s two, winning 6-4, 6-2. Lone senior Abigail Lewis won 6-4 in a long, exhausting tie-breaker.
