The Robert F. Munroe Day School softball team hosted Aucilla Christian School in the only game played over the spring break holiday by a county softball team.
Aucilla took advantage of untimely Lady Cat errors and stretched a 1-0 lead after one inning to a 7-1 lead after three innings. The Munroe team rallied for four more runs before bowing out of the Class A District 2 game 11-5.
Aucilla outhit Munroe 11-8 but Munroe committed 12 errors over the seven-inning game to erase any hope of a win. Munroe’s Haleigh Corbally, Courtney Mayo and Mary Jane Milam had two hits and Milam and Mayo had an RBI each in the loss.
The team dropped to 10-6 on the season and 6-2 in district play. The team plays FAMU this week and Franklin County, Malone and Chiles next week before entering district play the next.
