Rev. Virginia “Sister Jenny” Johnson Lemieux Shepard, 89, beloved pastor, mother, grandmother, and sister passed away Sunday, March 11, 2012 at her home. The service will be held Friday, March 16, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at Bethel Assembly of God Church, Pine Grove/ Sycamore Community, 1882 Pine Grove Church Road, Quincy, FL. Interment will be at Bethel cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday, March 15, 2012, from 6:00 – 8:00 pm at the church.
She was born in Sycamore Community September 29, 1922 to the late Phillip and Katie Johnson. Virginia married James E. Lemieux in 1940. She was licensed in 1946 and ordained in 1949 as a minister in the Fellowship of Assemblies of God. She pastored at several churches and was currently pasturing at First Assembly of God, Quincy, FL., where she served for 33 years.
Virginia is survived by her sons, Ronald (Lavonia) Lemieux, Jimmy (Alice) Lemieux, grandchildren, Rick E. (Donna) Lemieux, James K. (Barbara) Lemieux, Karen R. (Jim) Ward, Daryl (Tonya) Lemieux, Don Lemieux, Dan (Candy) Lemieux, Jerry (Heather) Lemieux and several great and great great grandchildren. She is also survived by two brothers; W.B. Johnson of Chattahoochee, FL. and Williams Roy (Shirley) Johnson of Sun Lakes, AZ and a sister, Linda Faye Burnett of Rockledge, FL. Step-sons, Frank and David Shepard. Step-daughter, Catherine Shepard (Jeff) Crawford. She was predeceased by her parents, Phillip and Katie Fletcher Johnson, husbands, James E. Lemieux and Roscoe Shepard. Brothers, Marvin Johnson, Thomas Vernon Johnson, and sisters, Catherine Dyer, Berry Lee Johnson and Ruth Elise Green.
