Rachel G. Perkins, 84, of Tallahassee peacefully went to be with the Lord Sunday, April 22 surrounded by her family. Family visitation will be April 25, at the Centenary United Methodist Church Parlor in Quincy, FL 3:00 PM followed by a memorial service 4 PM.
Rachel was a life-long resident of Quincy and moved to Tallahassee in 1998. She graduated from Greensboro High School and Florida State University. She was a member of Centenary United Methodist Church of Quincy and loved the Lord with all her heart. During her life, she taught school and was the office manager for Swisher International. Her love and devotion to her husband, children, family and friends were her greatest gifts. Her beautiful smile and blue eyes will always be remembered.
Rachel is survived by her husband of 64 years, Ralph L. Perkins of Tallahassee; her three children, Lee Rich (Wally) of Bradenton, FL; Peggy Auman (Ray) of Thomasville, GA, Ralph M. Perkins (Cheryl) of Tallahassee, FL; grand children Sybill Johnson (Paul) Sarasota; Sacha Gelfer, Eugene, OR; Landon Perkins Sarah Margaret and Emily Auman; Vicki Register, Vanessa Shivers, Greg Rich; great grand children Carter and Connor Johnson; Ryan Register, Lindsey Mimbs, Amber and Timmy Tice, Dillon Rich; great- great grandson Bryson Mimbs; her twin brother Carl Green, Jr. of Tallahassee; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sister, Catherine Smith, and parents, Mr. & Mrs. Carl Green Sr. Rachel's unwavering strength of faith, love of family and hospitality to friends will be missed by many.
