Quincy Heat takes top spot in Tally tournament

The Quincy Heat Girls 13 and under basketball team participated in the Tallahassee Comets Shootout at Florida A&M University April 9-11.

Each game was intense. Running plays, teamwork, and attacking on offense and defense led the girls to the top.

The first game, Quincy Heat vs. Dream, came down to a buzzer-beater. Shareika Gaymon scored the game-winning basket with 2 seconds left.  The Heat won 31-29.

The Heat also played the Tallahassee Comets, the hosting team.  The girls played extremely well.  The final score was 48-13.

In the last game before the championship, Quincy Heat played the Lady Trojans.  The score was 47-22.

It came down to championship time, a do-or-die rematch between the Quincy Heat and the Dream. The Heat won 53-45, taking the tournament championship. Tallahassee Comets Shootout Champions. The girls brought home a team trophy.

Two Heat players, Sharieka Gaymon and Tasherica McMillon, won individual trophies for making the All-Tournament Team.
