Quincy Community Redevelopment Agency director Charles Hayes said the CRA Board, which is made up of the members of the Quincy City Commission, put the skids on spending for entertainment until the new fiscal year begins Oct. 1.
Music on the Square had been planned for July 13 but was called off last week without notice because Hayes was out of town attending the National CRA Conference.
“There was some general discussion during the CRA July 16 meeting centered around the loss of money on some musical events so it was decided that we would wait until October to start up again,” Hayes said.
He said that throughout his year some of the Courthouse music concerts have been postponed or called off simply because of conflicts with other city sponsored or planned events.
The CRA Board wants to also wait until the 2013 budget workshops have been held Hayes said.
