Neal’s Temple plans event for women

Women’s conference coming in September
The Big Bend District Church of God in Christ will have its 2015 District Women’s Conference Sept. 3 to 5. Midday services will be at noon and will include prayer, workshops and lunch. Nightly services will start at 7:30 p.m. Sept. 3 and 4. The prayer breakfast will begin at 9 a.m. Saturday, Sept.5. Church to celebrate pastor’s
16th anniversary
St. John Church of God in Christ (St. John COGIC) will celebrate Superintendent Dr. Ronald L. McCloud and First Lady Jaunce McCloud’s 16th Pastor’s Anniversary at 11 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 20.
Pastor McCloud is a son of the church. Since the inception of St. John COGIC in the St. John Community more than 54 years ago, he has served faithfully from childhood until now. He considers himself fortunate to have as his spiritual father, the late Bishop E.L. Sheppard, Founding Pastor of St. John Church of God in Christ. He attributes the current work and vision to his mentor. Bishop Sheppard labored in this community over 37 years as pastor of St. John COGIC. Upon his death, the work passed on to Pastor McCloud.
He was officially appointed as pastor Feb. 14, 1999.

Union Chapel plans special program

Homecoming for Concordia Baptist
Concordia Baptist Church’s 157th homecoming will be celebrated starting at 10 a.m. Sept.13, at 4098 Concord Road, Havana. Fall fest organizers seek local talent
Shine your light! Share your talent! The St. John Church of Christ is looking for all types of praise ministry to fellowship with the community at the annual Fall Festival/Community Bazaar on Saturday, Oct. 3,  which will feature a free outdoor praise concert, festival style (bring your lawn or sports chairs): singing (soloists, youth/collegiate/adult choirs), praise teams, instrumental, comedy, dance, rap, mime, step, spoken word/poetry. If you are interested or know of any music groups or individuals who would be interested, please contact us or pass this information on.
The annual Fall Festival/Community Bazaar is a community outreach/fellowship event for everyone! This year Miss Monique will be emceeing the Gospel Praise Jam; she is a co-host on “The Doc D & Miss Monique Show” on Tallahassee’s 24-hour gospel radio station Heaven 98.3 FM/1410 AM.
 The all-day community event (from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.) features free activities for the youth, including a bouncy house, train, and other games. Come out and enjoy the fall festivities, which include the free praise concert, a free health and wellness fair with glucose (“sugar”) and blood pressure checks, diabetes awareness, and HIV/AIDS awareness and education, including the Florida Department of Health - Gadsden County and the Alzheimer’s Project. The community bazaar showcases nonprofit organizations, crafts, tasty food, merchandise and yard sale must-haves from community residents and businesses, including the Refuge House and Tallahassee Community College Admissions recruiters.  All registration forms can be downloaded from the church’s website.
 Don’t miss out on delicious, mouth-watering food! The church’s fried fish sandwiches and smoked turkey legs are the best around. Other food for sale will include chicken pilau, nachos, hot wings, fries, funnel cakes, and cold drinks.
 Please note: in case of rain, the fall festival events will move inside the church.

Santa Clara Baptist to host revival
 Santa Clara Baptist Church, 841 E. Jefferson St., Quincy, will have revival services on Sept. 20 to 23. They will start with Homecoming Service at 10:30 a.m. on Sunday the 20th; the other services Monday through Wednesday will start at 7 p.m. Everyone is invited. There will be a nursery provided.
