VBS planned for Chattahoochee

SUMMIT SEEKERS- Vacation Bible School at Flat Creek Baptist Church, 3660 Flat Creek Road Chattahoochee, will be 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, June 8, Family Night at 6 p.m. Sunday June 9. Women’s conference aims for change

Deliverance Temple Ministries will present Woman to Woman Conference 2013, set for June 6 and 7. This year’s conference theme is “Extreme Makeover: The Inside Job.” Guest speaker for this two-night event will be Pastor Wendy Smith-Martin, of Greater Victory Christian Center in Atlanta, Ga., and Evangelist Ruby Holland-Hutchins of Greater Community Temple COGIC in Memphis, Tenn.

Men’s conference ahead in Tallahassee

Men Leading Generations Conference 2013 will be June 21 through 23 at Wings of Dove Outreach Ministry, 800 W. Brevard St., Tallahassee. Service times are 7:30 p.m., June 21; breakfast and workshop, 10 a.m., June 22; and service and community feeding, 11 a.m. June 23. Donations accepted. Steward Temple plans breakfast

The pastor and members of Steward Temple AME Church invite the community to come and celebrate Family and Friends’ Prayer Breakfast at 9 a.m. Saturday, June 8, with guest speaker the Rev. Effie Randolph-Boone. The church is at 85 Woodward Road and the Rev. Louisa L. Thomas is the pastor. Breakfast donation is $7.

St. John to celebrate stewardesses

St. John A.M.E. Church, the Rev. Matthew J. Bryant, pastor, and Stewardess Board No. 2 of St. John A.M.E. Church will celebrate their Annual Stewardess Day at 7:30 p.m. Friday, June 7. The Open Door Church Family will render service to help celebrate this occasion. Guest speakers will be Elder Janella Hall and Elder Isabella Debose. The guest choir will be the Male Chorus of Open Door Church. The theme for this occasion is “The Preciousness of Family Unity and the Joy of Brotherhood.” The public is invited. 

Salem AME celebrates more than 135 years

Salem AME Church, 205 Kemp Street, Greensboro, Florida, the Rev. E.O. Gilliam, pastor, will host its 135th-plus year Church Anniversary at 3 p.m. Sunday, June 9.

 Youth Revival at St. Thomas

The St. Thomas MB Church invites the public to the annual Youth Revival 2013 at 7 p.m. daily Wednesday, June 5, through Friday, June 7.  Guest revivalist will be Elder Nathaniel Nicholson, Youth Pastor of St. Rosa PB Church in Tallahassee.

Open Door plans crusade

The Open Door Church, next to Sawdust Park in the Sawdust Community will present the “Woman to Woman Unity Crusade” “Real Talk” (What do you, when you don’t know what to do). Keeping it real. Uniting forces to save our children. The event will be Thursday, June 13, through Saturday, June 15, at 7:30 p.m. Thursday and Friday and 10 a.m. Saturday. Tribute to an inspiration

A tribute to the Rev. Leroy Colston in appreciation for 21 years of dedicated services with the Fellowship Mass Choir as the musician and director will be at 7 p.m. June 13 at New Bethel AME Church, 23209 Blue Star Highway, Quincy. Sponsored by the Fellowship Mass Choir.

St. Paul AME plans special program

St. Paul AME Church will be having a Favorite State Program at 3 p.m. Saturday, June 22 and a Fellowship/Worship service at 3 p.m. Sunday, June 23. The Rev. Louisa Thomas and the Steward Temple AME Church family of Quincy will be in charge of the service. The church is at 825 Bill McGill Memorial Hwy in Midway, where the Rev. Fundraiser planned for the Rev. Cox

A Pilau Dinner-Benefit to help cover the medical expenses for the Rev. Ed Cox will be from 4 to 7 p.m. June 8 at Santa Clara Baptist Church. Eat in fellowship or carry out. There will be live entertainment. Minimum donation is $7. The event is sponsored by the Gadsden County Baptist Association.

Holy Community Church, 24450 Blue Star Highway, Quincy, will have a yard sale from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday, June 8. On Friday, June 14, there will be one program at Church of Jesus Christ Holy Mission, where Pastor James Jones is the pastor. Holy Community’s annual Father’s Day Program will be at 11:30 a.m. June 16.
