Celebrate 190 years of Old Mt. Pleasant UMC
Please join Old Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church as the church family celebrates 190 years of serving this area with the theme: “190 Years and The Journey Continues.” Festivities kick off Saturday, Sept. 13, with Looking Up and the Gann Brothers performing starting at 6:30 p.m. Homecoming starts at 10 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 14, with Sunday School at 10 followed by Worship Service at 11 a.m. with covered dish dinner following in the Fellowship Hall. Mt. Moriah First Missionary Baptist Church invites the public to a special “Gold or White” Hat Program at 3 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 3. The service is sponsored by the church’s Deaconess Ministry. Union Chapel A.M.E. Church, 536 Union Chapel Road, Quincy, in the Sawdust Community, with the Rev. Kevin Robinson, pastor, will host a vacation Bible school titled “The Jesus Connection - (What A Friend),” 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.. daily, Monday, July 28, through Thursday, July 31. We invited all children from 4 years and up to adult as well as our season senior citizens also out to this great event. Everything is free, breakfast and lunch is provided as well as snack. On Thursday, July 31, there will be a cookout on the church grounds and the award ceremony and school supplies will be given out to all school age students. Labor Day Praise and Worship Service, August 31, 2014 at 11:00 am at Gretna Presbyterian Church. Gretna/Woodland Presbyterian Church’s first ever Praise and Worship Service with nearly all elements of Worship presented through song.  Featuring in-house talent as well as guest trio “Sweet Anointing”. Worship will be followed by a covered-dish luncheon shared in the Fellowship Hall.

The Gadsden County Center of Human Development will host its Back to School Explosion at Second Elizabeth MB Church at 7 p.m. Friday, Aug. 8. The community is invited for an evening of fun and entertainment. This program will help purchase school supplies for area school students.
