Men’s conference set
Men Leading Generations Conference 2014 starts at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Aug. 22, with worship service at Whosoever Will Church Written in Heaven, 587 S. Brick Yard Road, Midway. Celebrate 190 years of Old Mt. Pleasant UMC
Please join Old Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church as the church family celebrates 190 years of serving this area with the theme: “190 Years and The Journey Continues.” Festivities kick off Saturday, Sept. 13, with Looking Up and the Gann Brothers performing starting at 6:30 p.m. Homecoming starts at 10 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 14, with Sunday School at 10 followed by Worship Service at 11 a.m. with covered dish dinner following in the Fellowship Hall. Special service at Steward Temple
The Rev. Louisa L. Thomas and the members of the Steward Temple AME Church invite the community to the annual Family and Friends Day.  Worship services will be at 11 a.m. Sunday, July 27. The Rev. Horace Dozier and the members of New Canaan Baptist Church, Havana, is the guest church.  Dinner will be served, and the church is at 85 Woodward Road, Quincy.

St. Hebron African Methodist Episcopal Church will host its annual summer revival in conjunction with Steward Temple African Methodist Episcopal Church, Second Elizabeth Missionary Baptist Church, St. Matthew Primitive Baptist Church and St. John African Methodist Episcopal Church from July 28 - Aug.1, beginning nightly at 7 p.m. Featured guest pastor will be the Dr. Rev. James C. Wade, executive director Department of Church Growth and Development of Memphis, Tenn.

Get your praise on during Deliverance Temple Ministries’ inaugural Prayze in the Park Community Celebration, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, July 26, at 18300 Blue Star Highway, Quincy, featuring “Battle of the Praisers Competition.” Calling all singers, praise dancers, musicians and other gospel talents who know they have what it takes to battle it out for the top prize - contact Elder Gerald McGill at 850-339-6086. There will be games, door prizes, and food.  Representatives will be on-site to provide health screenings and services for job seekers. There will also be free popcorn, bounce-n-jump activities and snow cones for the children. Bring the whole family to enjoy this fun-filled day.

Mt. Moriah First Missionary Baptist Church invites the public to a special “Gold or White” Hat Program at 3 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 3. The service is sponsored by the church’s Deaconess Ministry. VBS at Union Chapel
Union Chapel A.M.E. Church, 536 Union Chapel Road, Quincy, in the Sawdust Community, with the Rev. Kevin Robinson, pastor, will host a vacation Bible school titled “The Jesus Connection - (What A Friend),” 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.. daily, Monday, July 28, through Thursday, July 31. We invited all children from 4 years and up to adult as well as our season senior citizens also out to this great event. Everything is free, breakfast and lunch is provided as well as snack. On Thursday, July 31, there will be a cookout on the church grounds and the award ceremony and school supplies will be given out to all school age students.
