101 Conference

The Gadsden County Baptist Association is sponsoring a Family Conference from 8:30 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. Sept. 14 at Thomas Memorial Baptist Church, 1001 W. Washington St., Quincy. There is no cost to attend the conference.

The conference topics include (1) Concepts of a Christian Home, (2) Single Parents, (3) Christian Finances. The schedule will allow individuals to attend two of the three conferences. The purpose of the event is to bring valuable information which could help many families with day-to-day decisions and quality of life. The public is invited.

Quincy guest to speak in Tallahassee 

The Evangelism Department and Pastor Jerome Cox of Integrity Church of God, 580 Appleyard Drive, Tallahassee, will host a prayer breakfast at 9 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 7. The guest speaker for the event will be First Lady Evangelist Diane Greene of Quincy Community Church.

Church to 

focus on missions

The Women Missionary Society along with the pastor and members invite all missionary, family, friends and laity members out to a joyful occasion at 3 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 25, to the name of the Syneda Madry Gilliam Women Missionary Society Program at Union Chapel, 536 Union Chapel Road, Quincy. 

She was a dedicated missionary and delivered hundreds of babies (midwife), during her lifetime in Gadsden and the surrounding county as well. Anyone whose life has been touched by her life is also invited to attend the event.

Group celebrates 

24 years of ministry

Sis. Dot Brown and the Gospel Interpreters will be celebrating their 24th anniversary” at 7 p.m. Aug. 30 and 31 and 4 p.m. Sept. 1. The Aug. 30 program features Holy Mission in Scott Town Community, the Rev. James Jones, Pastor. There will be preaching and singing along with The Gospel 

Starletts, who will be in charge of the song service. The Aug. 31 musical program will be at St. Joseph M.B. Church, Pastor Alvin Bush, in the Friendship Community. All choirs, groups and soloists are invited. The Sept. 1 program, also at St. Joseph M.B. Church, features Apostle Rosland Copeland and One voice, The Brightside of Tallahassee, Jerry Copeland & The Spiritual Voices of Cairo, Ga., Second Elizabeth Male Chorus, Spiritual Sons of Tallahassee, Mt. Calvary Male Chorus, Lakeside of Tallahassee and many others will be there. Everyone is invited. Special guest from Hinesville, Alabama, Pastor Celeste Crenshaw.

Ministry focuses on ladies

The Second Elizabeth MB Church, Women’s Ministry will host Ladies Night Out, starting at 7 p.m. Friday, Aug. 23. We invite our family and friends to join us for food, fun and fellowship with entertainment by Sister Praise of Bainbridge, Ga. Second Elizabeth is located in Quincy. The Second Elizabeth MB Church congregation is planning a five-year celebration for  Pastor John L. Gardner Sr. for his faithfulness and service. This momentous event will start at 3 p.m. Oct. 13 at the church. Church appreciates keyboardist

We are extending a special invitation for a very Special Appreciation for Isaac “Keyboard Man” Green at 5 p.m. Sept. 1. This program will be at the Open Door Church, Pastor, Bishop Marvin All and Co-pastor Janella Hall. The church is located on Providence Road in the Sawdust Community.
