The Quincy Police Department investigated a noticeably larger number of burglaries during the months of November and December. This period is typically marked by higher reports of thefts and burglaries due to the vast amount of holiday shopping by consumers.
On Nov. 29, QPD responded to a burglary of a local dentist’s office in Quincy. Several credit cards were taken during this crime. Several days later police discovered the suspect had used the credit cards at businesses in Quincy and Tallahassee. Police were able to obtain surveillance evidence of the suspect using the credit cards at several of the businesses.
On Jan. 14, QPD investigated a burglary which had occurred at a local school in Quincy. Police were able to locate and obtain video evidence of this crime as well. Using witnesses and police, QPD was able to identify the suspect in both of these crimes as Antonio Richardson of Quincy.
Once Richardson was taken into custody, Quincy Police began to link other persons to him and determine that their activities also had a Tallahassee connection. By working with law enforcement in Tallahassee, QPD was able to determine that an acquaintance of Richardson’s had been allegedly pawning property in Tallahassee which had been taken during burglaries in Quincy during the holiday season. QPD Investigators were able to provide information on Jaron Snell of Quincy to TPD so that TPD could obtain arrest warrants on this suspect for felony property crime charges as well.
The Quincy Police Department believes these suspects were involved in many crimes during this time period and that others were assisting them. This investigation is still ongoing and other arrests are possible.
