The West Gadsden High School Panthers faced a pair of Gulf County District 3-A basketball foes last week and lost both times in competitive contests.
The latest loss came Friday night in the West Gadsden gym when state-ranked Port St. Joe edged the Panthers 75-68 using a 28-16 third quarter edge to gain the advantage. John Battles zipped his way for 27 points to head West Gadsden's effort.
Fonda Davis had 23 points to top Port St. Joe. He also had 17 blocked shots that helped hold off the home team.
