A new suspect is now in custody following two initial arrests after the April 11 daytime shooting at Gadsden Arms Apartments on Stewart Street in Quincy, according to an April 18 press release from Quincy Police Department.
Chauncey Reed Hawkins, 18, of 1444 Jakes Drive, Tallahassee, is being held at the Leon County Jail.
He is charged with robbery with a firearm, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, accessory to aggravated battery with a firearm, accessory to aggravated assault with a firearm, accessory to shooting into a dwelling and accessory to discharging a firearm.
Rizterrious Lavont Robinson, one of the first two suspects arrested, turned himself in April 12 to Quincy Police Department. He has since been cleared and released. According to the April 18 report, a witness recanted testimony concerning Robinson’s alleged involvement.
Chazdin Jamarick Miller, 19, is still being held. His bond is set at $350,000.
According to the same QPD report, the case is still open. QPD investigators continue to seek, locate and interview additional witnesses. The department anticipates more arrests will be made in association with this shooting.
