Have you got the best mom on the planet? Has your mother sacrificed for you, loved you and supported you, and you want to find a way to say thanks?
Here’s your chance.
The Gadsden County Times is holding a Mother of the Year contest, and is seeking entries. Tell us, in 25 words or less, what makes your mom so special. Contest entries will be accepted via e-mail only, and must be received by 2 p.m. on May 1. Entries submitted after that time or exceeding the word limit will not be accepted. Submit entries to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Nominations must include contact information for the nominee, including home telephone and cell phone number, where appropriate. All nominated moms must live in Gadsden County.
The entries will be gathered and a winner will be drawn on the afternoon of May 1. The winning mother will be notified that evening.
The Mother of the Year must be available for an interview on May 2, and the article, along with photos, will appear in the May 7 edition of the Times, both in print and online.
In addition, all submitted entries will be published online at our Web site, www.gadcotimes.com.
The Mother of the Year will also receive a framed copy of her special article, along with a bouquet of flowers, and a beautiful gold rose lapel pin, donated by Padgett’s Jewelers.
We are also asking for submissions of photos for a special Mother’s Day slide show on our Web site. Please e-mail photos of your mom, either alone or with her children, to email@example.com. The photos may be black and white or in color, and only one photo per family will be accepted.
Only e-mailed photos will be accepted, and submissions must be sent before 2 p.m. on May 1. Photos sent after that time will not be included in this special slide show presentation, which will launch May 7.
You do not have to nominate your mom for Mother of the Year to submit a photo for the slide show. Each mother’s full name, when included with the e-mail, will appear with the photo. No other names will be included.
The slide show will appear on the site, along with the article and other entries, for two weeks, so that your out-of-town family and friends can read about how great your mom is.
