Munroe splits games in Altha

The R. F. Munroe softball team gave it out and took it in a pair of games Saturday in Altha.

The Bobcats hammered Malone in the first game and then got hammered by Arnold in the second contest.

Munroe scored 15 first-inning runs and went on to defeat Malone 21-3 in their first game.

The Lady Bobcats took advantage of Malone walks and Spencer Morris, Mary Jane Milan and Courtney Mayo scored three runs each. Mayo also had three runs batted in and Courtney White and Haleigh Corbally knocked in a pair of runs each. Milan was the winning pitcher and has a 3-0 season record.

In the second game Arnold shut out the Lady Cats 17-0. Kristen Allen had two hits for Munroe. The team’s record is 9-6, and the team played West Gadsden at home Tuesday.
