Robert F. Munroe has hired a new football coach.  Coach Danny Hood was hired by the school this week to replace Joey Striplin, who led the Bobcats for three seasons.  Coach Striplin will be the new Offensive Coordinator at East Gadsden High School.

Coach Hood  has most recently coached football at Vernon High School where he was the Offensive Coordinator and Special Teams Coordinator.  He is also an alumus of Vernon High School, where he was a four sport letterman at Vernon and quarterback of the Yellow Jacket football team.  Prior to Vernon, Coach Hood was the Offensive Coordinator at Maclay School.  Before that he began his coaching career at Geneva County High School in Hartford, Alabama.

Coach Hood has also proven himself as a multiple sport coach.  He has won over 400 games as a softball coach at Vernon and Geneva High School.  He has also coached basketball and golf.

Coach Hood will teach Physical Education on campus and has already begun spring workouts with the Munroe players.   “I am really looking forward to this opportunity at Munroe.  I have heard great things about the school and the players.  We have a dozen out so far for our first few days of spring practice and half a dozen more are currently on the baseball roster playing in regionals.”
