Willie Augusta Moore, 69, of Mt. Pleasant, died Dec. 10 at the Gulf Coast Medical Center in Panama City.
He was born Aug. 18, 1939 in Gadsden County to the late Nora Oliver and Perry Moore. He attended the public schools of Gadsden County, received Jesus Christ at an early age and joined New Hope Missionary Baptist Church in Mt. Pleasant.
He married Rosetta McMillan in 1960 and they were blessed with a son. Later in life, he was joined in holy matrimony to the late Katie Lee Hover for 35 years and they helped to raise many nieces and nephews.
He earned sharpshooter (Rifle-M14), marksman rifle badges, and was honorably discharged as an E-3 and was a disabled veteran. He was employed as farm laborer and carpenter.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at New Hope MB Church, with burial with miitary honors in the Sunnyvale Cemetery in Quincy. Visistation will be held Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the church.
He is survived by a loving and devoted family, including niece and caregiver, Hattie M. Cobb (Lenard) of Mt. Pleasant; son, Earth Moore and mother, Rosetta M. Clifford of Ft. Myers; sisters, Classie White (Deacon Robert) of Gretna and Elder Dora Gibson (Raymond) of Mt. Pleasant; brothers, Joe Lewis Bloxom (Shirley) of Tallahassee and Bishop Frank Bloxom (Betty) of Jacksonville; aunts, Sylvania Jackson of Chester, Penn. and Jessica M. Patterson of Boynton Beach; sisters-in-law, Georgia M. Richardson of Quincy, Doretha Hover of Mt. Pleasant, Lillian Hover of Quincy and Earnestine Allen of Jacksonville; brothers-in-law, Elder Leroy Hover (Ella) of Cordele, Ga., WIlliam Hover of Minneapolis, Minn.; 19 grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
