Midway fire station nears completion

Midway Interim City Manager Roosevelt Morris said that while the fire station on State Road 267 was unable to meet a projected completion date by Jan. 31, there is no doubt the new structure will be ready within the next 30 days.
Former City Manager Auburn Ford Jr. told the Town Council during the regular monthly meeting Jan. 3 that the building would be complete by Jan. 31. However, later in the meeting after Ford made that promise, he was fired by the council and there was speculation whether the facility could be ready by that date.
