Charges against 45-year-old Gregory Harris of Quincy were upgraded to second-degree murder this past week after Glenn Allen Holley, 41, also of Quincy, died from injuries allegedly inflicted by Harris in a May 30 altercation on Valley Drive in Quincy.
According to information released by the Quincy Police Department, the two men got into an argument during the afternoon of May 30, and Holley lightly shoved Harris and sat down in a chair. That’s when Harris allegedly took a tree limb and began hitting Holley about the head.
When police arrived, they found Holley unresponsive and bleeding profusely. Holley was taken to Tallahassee Memorial Hospital, where his sister, Yvette Biddle, said he was on life support until he died June 10.
“My brother didn’t hurt nobody, he didn’t have to do this,” Biddle said several days after the incident but before her brother was pronounced dead.
Anyone who witnessed the incident or who may have additional information is asked to call Quincy Police Department’s Criminal Investigative Unit at 850-627-7111.
