A 23-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a shooting last night in Chattahoochee.
Taurence Crawford was identified by his victim. Crawford was charged with aggravated battery with a firearm.
The shooting took place just before 6:30 p.m. at the 700 block of Lincoln Drive. The victim suffered a superficial gunshot wound to the right ear and neck, according to reports.
Crawford cooperated with the Chattahoochee Police Department, and allowed officers to search his property. He was also tested for gunshot residue on his body. Crawford has denied any connection with the shooting.
According to police reports, the shooting was in relation to an allegation that the victim broke into the home of Crawford's mother, stealing jewelry and other items. The theft was not reported.
Crawford is being held in the Gadsden County Jail.
